AM:  69F, 90%.  6 @ 8:45 AP.  A sub-70 degree morning in July is crazy.  If I hadn't signed up for a 4th of July race, I would've taken advantage with a long tempo or something, but instead I just plodded around for rest.  Still enjoyed it though.  Probably going to skip the PM run today.

One of the problems with the greenway is the overpopulated deer, which aren't afraid of humans.  I came running up on this one and she was obviously in no hurry to get out of the way.

I petitioned city council to import some Bengal tigers to help eradicate the deer, but they won't even bring the issue up for a vote.

Here's another shot of the beautiful scenery.   The telephone poles just seem to continue infinitely off into the distance.

Stunning.  Sometimes I wonder just how far they really go.

Maybe forever, SlowJoe.

Maybe forever.

You could have tackled that deer!... picture week is full of unexpected twists! Didn't expect to see any wildlife.

I'm surprised you don't do a 50 miler in your neighborhood just for the sheer beauty of it. And yes, SlowJoe, the poles really do go forever. And ever. And ever.

....beyond where the sidewalk ends.

This really is a happy post. I love it.

Jake - I SHOULD have tackled it...smug deer.

Russ - seriously, who needs a race to experience such unnatural wonders. I can just race pole to pole.

Burt - thanks. As you know, I'm happy about everything 100% of the time.

Is that deer giving you the stink eye?

From Tom K on Thu, Jul 02, 2015 at 19:37:42 from 174.58.54.215

Is this week building up to something huge? Can you top tackle deer and power poles? We shall see.

don't be fooled by that deer's air of coolness and queen-of-the-sidewalk confidence. that smooth fur is mostly hairspray and she wastes 90% of the family's monthly budget on leave-in conditioner.

that's a really nice sidewalk, though. show us more!

From SlowJoe on Fri, Jul 03, 2015 at 08:33:25 from 45.18.50.53

D - yep, they act like they own the place, just because they happen to live there.

Tom - nah, scraping the bottom of the barrel at this point..

Allie - thanks, it's good to know the backstory - her life is a house of cards.
