AM:  Just resting up before the race tonight.  Looks like the heat index will start above 90 but might get decent cloud cover, which will help with the 7:15pm start.  Temps will stay above 80 for the duration.  There will be some good competition there as well - at least 3 guys that have run times well faster than anything I've done.  Really need to make sure I don't get pulled out too fast, but overall I'm really excited for the competition...even though I think I might be a bit unprepared for the heat.

PM:  Got my butt kicked, felt bad from the very beginning.  I puked a lot after the race and now @ ~11am Sunday I still haven't been able to eat anything...stomach is one big knot.  Guessing it's a gift from my daughter who stayed home with me on Wednesday after she was puking at summer camp.  Painful...

Bummer about the stomach pain. 5th place with puking and heat is really impressive. That's some good fight through the pain stuff right there. But you always seem to do that! Congrats, Joe.

Stomach pain is no joke. Heck of an effort Joe. Tom is right, you fighting through these things is something you excel at. Stubborn runner :) Impressive.
