79F, 84%.  7.2 @ 8:06 AP.  Last 0.2 miles was @ MP.  It was pretty hard.  It's difficult to believe I'm actually going to sign up for Boston in 9 days, where they'll expect me to go an additional 26 miles.

80F, 70%.  8:08 AP.  Pretty warm for a September morning.

I weighed myself yesterday - 13 lbs heavier than before Boston.  Now I don't really give a crap what I look like, I'm naturally a little skinny anyway.  But as a runner, I need to lose some of that.  I think September will be all about longer, slower running/base building, with not much more than strides or hill sprints for workouts.  Trim the fat, and then it'll be time to really run with the cooler air in October.

77F, 78%.  8:29 AP.  Some nice plodding this morning.  Today I'm unemployed (I start the new job on Monday) so we went to the riverwalk for lunch.  Tomorrow, we're going to Sea World while the kids are at school.

77F, 83%.  7:50 AP.  Easy, but with about 10 strides in the last couple miles.

Hopefully we don't have Sea World stink on us when we pick up the kids from school.  Sometimes they have a sixth sense for when mom and dad are having fun without them.

74F, 94%.  7:52 AP.  Moist.

I was thinking on this run today about my lack of running this summer.  I think I justified it by saying my legs would appreciate the extended break, and then be super ready to attack when the "season" started.  But I did not factor in the weight gain.  That is one booger I flicked a little too far.

74F, 95%.  7:59 AP.  I woke up at 4:00am to get this one in.  Have to bold that, since it is probably a PR (and it's the only one I'll see for awhile).  8-min pace is good aerobic work for me right now.

72F, 96%.  Must be the humid time of year.  I keep looking at the 10-day forecast, hoping to glimpse maybe a low of 68 or 69 sometime in the future, but nothing yet.

Today was slow, but I added 7 x 8 sec hill sprints.

73F, 84%.  7:42 AP.  I finished up this run with a little progression, doing the last 5 in 7:25, 7:15, 6:48, 6:57, 6:48.  Not that 3 @ MP is that great, but I felt somewhat strong doing it - that's the new part.

Some tremendous chaffing in an unfortunate location though.  Discovered that while taking a shower.  It's a good thing we're about to go to church, because I need forgiveness for some of the things I said while the soapy water was running over it.

75F, 88%.  Drove to the track for 3 x (6 x 200m on/off).  I didn't time a single one; this helped me avoid the temptation to "see what I can do," which would probably lead to disappointment.  Good little starter workout though.  I'll be hitting the track a minimum of once a week, as I get rolling on my 5k training this fall.

75F, 95%.  To use TomK's term, this was a big runfail.  I am getting the kids' stomach bug...  Set out to run 12, but turned around well beforehand.  It turned out to be a wise move as I almost puked a couple times on the way back.  Work should be interesting.

76F, 93%.  8:08 AP.  I think it was a 24-hr bug that I had yesterday.  I was able to make it through work without puking, and feel decent today despite not eating much last night.  Felt a little weak on this run, but that is actually common for me so maybe I'm over it completely.

76F, 90%.  I got to work early and ran "on campus" since they have some running trails.  Turns out they're better suited for walking.  Too twisty turny and I had to run in circles just to get 3 miles.  Then I gave up.  The good news is the locker room at work had everything and I beat the traffic by leaving so early.  Next week I'm going to the greenway first and then go to work from there.  Then ill still beat most of the traffic but have a nice place to run too.

60F, and dry.  7:31 AP.  Finally, the first cold front came through.  The 60 degrees felt like winter.  This was an ok run, too.  I'm still heavy and out of shape, but the last few miles were 7:16, 7:12, 6:54, 6:32, 5:55 pace for the last 0.7.  The 6:32 was an uphill mile, so not too shabby.

I am just not crazy about running like I used to be.  I'm still going to try and follow this 5k training plan that Bam helped to lay out for me, and hope the fire comes back.  The new job is going to keep me really busy with a lot longer hours and such, and the kids have a lot of activities after school, so running is taking a back seat, as it should.  But overall, I like being a runner so I will try to keep it up and let's see what happens.

65F.  Track today - 3 x (6 x 200 on/off), followed by 800m at the same effort as the 200s.  Definitely not in the same kind of shape as after Boston but all in all I felt ok.  The 800 was a 2:42.

Nothin this morning.  It was Danielle's birthday yesterday and we went to The Book of Mormon and then stayed at a hotel on the river walk.  Had a little too much fun (and 7 dollar beers)...

63F, 97%.  A brisk morning...I ran 3 miles - supposed to be 6 but I realized I left the car unlocked and I turned around early.  I didn't want to be thinking about it  the whole run.  Then, instead of going back out after locking it, I decided that no, I would not.  Tomorrow I'm going to the track though, so that's something.
