3 treadmill miles in 26 minutes.  I barely felt the spot on the 3rd metatarsal, but it was still slightly present.  For all I know it could take a month or two until I feel nothing down there, and it's probably unnecessary to wait until that happens, so I'm comfortable taking it easy for now.  Sadly, this was actually a pretty decent aerobic workout for me anyway.  Fitness will come back, just might take a couple months...

Not to toot my own horn (toot, toot, beep, beep) but I was surprised how quickly my fitness came back after injury October 2013. I basically had no mileage in November and little in December. I ran a fat sub-18 5k and I ran a much slimmer half PR in mid-March.

This is no consolation right now I realize. Being patient helps. Ryan Vail (I sent you his blog) reinjured himself. His training was fairly conservative at first but he did get a bit aggressive but it seemed like he was going to pull it off.

Yes! The come back had to start somewhere. 3 treadmill miles is as good a place as any other.
