78F to start, 83F finish.  Started in darkness, but the lack of shade made it feel hotter in the last few miles when the sun rose.  Anyway, I took it mostly easy today so no big deal - 7:57 AP.

Gotta remember not to run down that section of Wildcat road anymore.  Every single residence had 2 or 3 dogs running loose and it was a competition to see who could be the biggest nuisance.  The winner was this tiny, prissy white dog who almost nipped my heel.  The houses there are spaced out every quarter-mile or so, but it was a 2+ mile stretch...

84F.  8:45 AP.  Looks like the lows will finally drop to mid-70s by the end of the week which should feel great after mornings like this.

AM - 84F, S 14 mph.  5.11 miles @ 8:51 AP.  I screwed up my alarm setting and woke up late, so this was all I had time for.  As it was, I had to run all the way to the shower; found out I can arrive back at home from a run and be completely ready to go 8 minutes later (including the shower).  Anyway, I was already planning to double today, so it just means a longer TM run this evening.

PM - 6 TM miles this afternoon, 8:45 AP, with a couple TM-style strides at the end to loosen up.  Apparently my normal BK lunch is 1400+ calories (looked it up).  So that was definitely still digesting as I ran.

82F, S 10 mph.  Slogged it out today, 8:06 avg.  Just surviving until the worst of the heat passes which should be soon.

I got a couple new pairs of Kinvaras in the mail.  They were on sale for only $59 at Eastbay as long as you don't mind black shoes, which I don't.  The problem is that now I feel like a chick with 6 pairs of shoes in the rotation.  At least I won't need anymore for awhile.

76F.  I ran early; it looks like it got even a couple degrees cooler than that after I was done.  8:51 AP.  Maybe some 800s tomorrow if I feel fresh.  Otherwise, more slogging.

74F.  Definitely felt cooler out there.  I had no excuse not to do some 800s as this was one of the coolest mornings we've had in months.  So, 6 x 800 with 400m active recoveries.

First, I did 8.12 miles easy, 8:06 AP.  Then rolled right in to the 800s.

3:12, 3:02, 3:01, 2:58, 3:00, 2:53.  Average was 3:01 (6:04 pace).  Too bad about the first one messing up the average.  I don't look at my watch at all during intervals until each one is complete, so I porked the first one.  The recovery 400s ranged from 2:02-2:19.  Afterward, cooled down 2 miles and change to get home.  7:49/mile for the run as a whole.

Pretty successful morning, now I get a day off to soak up the workout after another 70-mile week.  1 more week until my marathon training plan begins...
